Personal Background:
* I was a member of the Civil Air Patrol during High School (New Trier East in Winnetka, IL) and when I was 17.5 years old - circa 1970, I soloed in Gliders as part of a summer encampment held in Algonquin, IL. It was truly an awesome experience!
* After graduation in 1970 from High School, my present for graduating was a 6 week trip to Europe with AIFS (American Institute for Foreign Study). As part of the group of students from throughout the US (Debbie and Danna Blocker, the fraternal twin daughters of Dan Blocker were also on the trip), we spent 4 weeks studying French at l'Université d'Aix en Provence, France, and we spent our weekends visiting other towns/cities - St. Tropez, Marseilles - (ate the best Bouillabaisse), Chamonix - (ate the best cheese fondue at the base of Mont Blanc - and then took the gondola up to Aiguille du Midi - stunning mountain views), and then visited Geneva, Switzerland, Cannes and Nice. We began the trip by visiting London and Paris and after the 4 weeks at Aix, we took a train to Rome!
* Television Show in Chicago on Cable Access TV in 2008 and 2009. It was a Karaoke Game Show that I developed and I was the Producer, Director and Star. The Show was called Karie Okie Court and I was known as Charles The Karie Okie Queen since I was in drag for each show. Here is one of my favorite excerpts from the show. This young fellow, Christian Ketter - the winner of this episode - was just about to graduate from High School when he appeared as a contestant on the show. Frank, my late husband and I, became close friends of Christian and his family and he and his sister Catherine referred to us as their honorary gay uncles!
* I have always enjoyed singing and making people laugh and have a good time when we are together. Since moving here, I have sung for Lucie Arnaz (daughter of Lucy and Desi) at a Master Class she held at the Purple Room in Palm Springs
* I auditioned for America's Got Talent - in 2018
* I was in the audience for The Price is Right and Let's Make A Deal
* Upon arriving in Palm Springs, I began traveling to Beverly Hills for broker open houses on Tuesdays. Then I decided that I wanted to find the Chartwell Mansion that was used as the facade home used on the Beverly Hillbillies TV Show. Well, much to my surprise, it turns out that the home is actually located in Bel Air and the original address at 735 Bel Air Road has been gated and now the new entrance to the estate is around the corner at 875 Nimes Road.
* I have joined the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and have attended the President of Beverly Hills State of the City address at the Greystone Manor and have attended a variety of other networking events.

* Memory at Mel's: Frank Kiesel, my late husband and I, and three friends attended the 55th Annual Emmy's (during intermission we saw Christina Applegate and her cute husband outside smoking and then we saw Martin and Charlie Sheen arguing in the lobby and a myriad of other stars - it was so exciting) and afterwards we decided to go to Mel's Diner in our evening wear. When we arrived, Ellen DeGeneres, was holding court with a group of friends at one of the booths. Whenever I visit Beverly Hills, I always head to Mel's for lunch - it's my favorite place to get a great bowl of Chicken Soup - IT's THE BEST!! Plus the memories of being there with my Frankie!!
